Casa Fernandez Arsenio Cigars

Rated 93 By Cigar Aficionado - When Paul Palmer first handed me a box of Casa Fernandez Arsenio, I opened the box and was in awe of the beautiful wrapper that was smooth and glistening with an oily sheen. The cigars smelled wonderful, I took one out of the box and quickly clipped it. The prelight had notes of cedar and was slightly tart. I fired it up and the room was filled with a dense complex smoke with notes of black pepper, hickory, sweet chocolate and fresh cut cedar. The cigar was bold and powerful yet silky smooth with loads of flavor.

Casa Fernandez Arsenio Cigars are hand made in Nicaragua by cousins Paul Palmer and Eduardo Fernandez. Eduardo is very low keyed and aviods the spotlight, but insiders know that he is one of Nicaragua's largest growers of tobacco supplying almost every cigar manufacturer with leaf. This gives Paul the luxury of being able to sort through and set aside the best of the best tobacco leaves as each year's harvest is processed. (Many of these special reserved tobaccos are used in Flor de Cielo, Illusione and Cruzado cigars as well.)

The Casa Fernandez Arsenio Cigars are a wonderfully complex Nicaraguan smoke that I highly recommend, especially for the price.
