NH Cigars began its journey in 2004, founded by Mike Johnson, a U.S. Army Veteran (11B), and his high school friend Robert Lynch. Leaving behind their construction careers, they ventured into the cigar industry, opening a store in Manchester, NH. The early days were challenging, with long hours, little sleep, and constant adjustments to inventory. But for Mike and Robert, it wasn’t just work—it was extreme obsession and a way of life.

Embracing Change: The Birth of NHCIGARS.COM

Recognizing the rise of eCommerce, Mike and Robert pivoted their focus to online sales, launching NHCIGARS.COM. Leveraging New Hampshire’s tax-free status on premium cigars, they positioned themselves to compete with larger retailers by offering unbeatable value.

Starting an online business in 2004 was no small feat. Scams, hacks, and unreliable resources were common obstacles. After facing setbacks, NH Cigars took control by learning web development and eCommerce management in-house. Today, with over 20 years of experience, their team operates around the clock to ensure the website remains secure, efficient, and user-friendly.
