The Añejo No. 55 is one of those cigars people wait all year to grab, and when they show up, they vanish just as fast. At 6 x 55, it’s a hefty, slow-burning beast of a cigar—big ring Torpedo, big flavor, but still surprisingly refined for something with so much Maduro richness going on.

What really sets the Añejo series apart, including the No. 55, is that Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper aged in cognac barrels with a opus X filler. It’s dark, oily, heavy with aroma, and when you light it, you instantly get that signature mix of sweetness and oak.

The size works beautifully here. That 55-ring gauge gives the blend room to breathe, so the sweetness doesn’t overpower and the spice doesn’t blow out your palate. It’s balanced in that “Fuente knows exactly what they’re doing” kind of way.

Burn and draw? As steady as you’d hope from something this limited. Slow, cool, consistent—almost creamy at times. It’s the kind of cigar you set aside real time for; you don’t rush a No. 55. It’s more of a settle-in-and-enjoy situation.
