The HVC Edición Especial 2015 Short Robusto gets moving fast. Earth, pepper, and dark roasted tobacco show up almost immediately.

Then it begins to settle.

Cocoa comes through. Espresso too, followed by cedar, leather, and a mild sweetness hiding behind the darker flavors. Nothing overly sweet. Just enough to soften the pepper and keep the finish balanced.

A dark Mexican San Andrés wrapper gives the cigar its rich character. Underneath, Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos bring spice, wood, and plenty of depth. Bold blend. Still smooth when you take your time with it.

At 4.5″ x 52, the Short Robusto is made for a quicker smoking session. The box-pressed shape feels solid in the hand, while the thicker ring gauge keeps the smoke cool and full.

Rated 94 points, this is not a watered-down version of the larger Edición Especial 2015 sizes. It is concentrated. Darker. A little stronger near the finish.
