Perdomo Legacy Shade Grown Gordo
The Perdomo Legacy Shade Grown Gordo is a large cigar. Six inches long. A thick 60-ring gauge. It needs a little time, but that is part of what makes it work.
The first few draws bring cedar, toasted oak, and a touch of pepper. Nothing too aggressive. As the cigar warms up, roasted nuts and cream begin to show. Then some cinnamon-like spice and a soft sweetness underneath. Almost like molasses, but not heavy.
The reddish-brown Nicaraguan Shade Grown wrapper has been aged for years and finished with additional time in bourbon barrels. That extra aging smooths out the sharper edges. The spice feels warmer. The sweetness feels natural. No rough finish.
Inside, Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos give the cigar plenty of depth. Earth, wood, nuts, and spice move around throughout the smoke. The large ring gauge keeps everything cool and lets the flavors develop slowly.
Medium to full-bodied overall. It may feel a little stronger near the final third, but the cigar stays balanced and smooth.
