ROOM101 17th Anniversary Toro is not a reworked version of an older anniversary cigar.
Matt Booth and A.J. Fernandez went back to the drawing board for this release, building a 6″ x 52 Toro entirely from Nicaraguan tobacco. Pepper and spice hit early, then darker flavors begin taking over with espresso, earth, dark chocolate and rich tobacco.
It has some horsepower.
But there is enough movement in the blend to keep it from becoming a one-note powerhouse.

Matt Booth did not celebrate it quietly.
The ROOM101 17th Anniversary Toro is a limited-edition 6″ x 52 cigar made in collaboration with A.J. Fernandez in Nicaragua and built entirely around Nicaraguan tobacco.
Wrapper. Binder. Filler. All Nicaragua. A simple recipe, and not a simple cigar.
The opening comes in with pepper and spice right away.
There is some bite. Then the darker side starts moving forward. Earth begins settling underneath the pepper. Espresso follows. Dark chocolate starts showing up as the cigar gets deeper into the first half, while cedar and rich tobacco add more weight around the edges.
This is noticeably fuller than the softer side of ROOM101. It was meant to be.
The 52 ring gauge keeps the blend focused without making the smoke overly concentrated. There is enough filler tobacco to give the cigar depth, while the wrapper still stays involved from beginning to end. As it burns, the sharper pepper starts backing off a little. Coffee gets darker. Chocolate becomes richer. Earth stays underneath everything. Then the spice begins building again toward the finish.
There is strength here, but the cigar is not just trying to prove how strong it can be. It has progression. That matters. ROOM101 also kept this release extremely simple when it came to sizing. One cigar. One Toro. 6″ x 52.
Production was limited to 2,500 boxes of 20 cigars, putting the entire run at just 50,000 cigars. Once this anniversary release is gone, there is no regular-production version waiting behind it.
