J.C. preferred cigars to tailoring, unlike his brothers. His mother hired a cigar manufacturer $3 a month to educate her kid hand-rolling. J.C. had no idea when he hand-rolled his first 500 cigars for the family grocer in May 1895 that he was beginning a family heritage that would last four generations. J.C. Newman Cigar Company is the only premium cigar company still owned and maintained by its original family.

J.C.’s first cigar brand was Diamond Crown. Stanford J. Newman, Eric and Bobby’s father, relaunched Diamond Crown in 1995 to celebrate J.C. Newman’s 100th anniversary. In 2002, Diamond Crown MAXIMUS debuted.

Diamond Crown Julius Caeser was introduced in 2010 to mark J.C.’s 135th birthday and our company’s 115th. Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic hand rolls Diamond Crown Julius Caeser cigars. Julius Caeser is held to Diamond Crown’s highest quality standards.

Julius Caeser’s powerful, rich taste comes from a mix of Ecuadorian Havana-seed wrappers, Dominican binder, and Dominican and Central American fillers matured for five years.
