Plasencia Year of the Goat 2027 Cigars

Plasencia Year of the Goat 2027 cigars mark the seventh annual release in the brand’s Chinese Zodiac collection. The edition’s Spanish name, El Año de la Cabra, translates to “The Year of the Goat.”

Handmade in Danlí, Honduras, the cigar measures 6¼ inches with a 60 ring gauge. Its Perfecto Figurado shape tapers toward both ends, giving the format its curved profile.

The blend brings together tobacco from Honduras and Nicaragua. The presentation follows the Lunar New Year theme, with numbered wooden boxes and individual cigar gift boxes inside.

Tobacco Origins and Blend

Honduras supplies the wrapper, binder, and part of the filler. The Nicaraguan contribution comes from Estelí. Plasencia identifies the components as follows:

  • Wrapper: Azacualpa, Olancho, Honduras.
  • Binder: Jamastrán Valley, Honduras.
  • Filler: Jamastrán Valley, Honduras, and organically grown tobacco from Estelí, Nicaragua.

The organic designation applies specifically to the Estelí filler tobacco. The announcement does not identify the complete cigar as certified organic.

Flavor Notes Reported by Plasencia

Toasted oak and espresso begin the manufacturer’s description. Dark chocolate, raisins, and earthy undertones follow as the profile develops.

Later notes include walnut, cinnamon, and clove, with lingering toasted sweetness on the finish. These flavor descriptions come from Plasencia’s release announcement; the company did not provide a strength rating in that announcement.

Numbered Boxes and Individual Presentations

Each ten-count wooden box has a red lacquered finish, gold detailing, and patterns inspired by the curves of goat horns. The outer boxes are individually numbered.

Inside, each cigar has its own gift box. Plasencia connects this presentation with hóngbāo, the traditional Chinese red envelope associated with Lunar New Year gifts, generosity, and prosperity.

The 2027 Zodiac Edition

Plasencia announced 6,000 boxes worldwide, with ten cigars per box. That puts the edition’s stated production at 60,000 cigars.

The family’s tobacco history dates to 1865 and spans five generations. For the Year of the Goat release, Plasencia links the animal’s symbolism of patience, balance, and quiet strength with its approach to cultivation and its relationship with the land.
