Plasencia Year of the Goat 2027 – El Año de la Cabra
Plasencia went with a big perfecto for the Year of the Goat. 6¼ x 60, with a shaped silhouette that gives this edition a look of its own. Named El Año de la Cabra, the 2027 release is the seventh cigar in the company’s annual Chinese Zodiac collection.
It is handmade in Danlí, Honduras, and the blend draws on tobacco from both Honduras and Nicaragua. There is a long family history behind that combination. Five generations of tobacco-growing experience, with roots reaching back to 1865. Plasencia connects this edition with the goat’s symbolism of harmony, resilience, and quiet strength.
Honduran Roots, With Tobacco From Estelí
The wrapper comes from Azacualpa in Olancho, Honduras. Underneath it sits a binder from the Jamastrán Valley. The filler brings together more Jamastrán tobacco and organically grown leaf from Estelí, Nicaragua.
That gives El Año de la Cabra a clear Honduran foundation, with Nicaragua contributing to the filler. The organically grown Estelí tobacco is one component of that blend.
Toasted Oak, Espresso, and a Sweeter Turn
Plasencia’s tasting notes describe a progression from roasted flavors into dark fruit, nuts, and baking spice:
- Opening notes: Toasted oak and espresso.
- Developing flavors: Dark chocolate, raisins, and earthy undertones.
- Later notes: Walnut, cinnamon, and clove.
- Finish: Lingering toasted sweetness.
If your preferences run toward roasted coffee, dark fruit, and warm spice, those notes give you a useful starting point. They come from Plasencia’s blend description; individual impressions will vary.
