At just under five inches long with a massive 70 ring gauge, this cigar puts a lot of tobacco into a shorter format. The result is a thick, slow-burning smoke that gives the JFR 20 Years blend plenty of room to show what it can do.
The Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper brings the darker side of the cigar. Cocoa. Earth. Pepper. Leather. Underneath are Aganorsa-grown Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos that add spice, strength, and plenty of that familiar Nicaraguan character.
It is rich, but not just heavy. There is some natural sweetness working underneath the darker flavors, helping everything stay balanced as the cigar develops.
Then there is the format itself. Box-pressed. Pigtail cap. Unfinished foot. Short and extremely thick. Definitely not an everyday-looking cigar.
