Twenty years of JFR deserved something different.
The Aganorsa JFR 20 Years Super Toro (6.5″ x 52) was created to celebrate two decades of the JFR name, taking the brand’s Nicaraguan roots and wrapping them in a dark Mexican San Andrés Maduro leaf.
Under that wrapper is Aganorsa-grown Nicaraguan binder and filler tobacco. The combination starts with pepper and earth, then settles into richer flavors of cocoa, cedar, leather, toasted tobacco, and warm spice. A touch of natural sweetness from the Maduro wrapper works its way through the background.
The 6.5″ x 52 Super Toro keeps the blend focused while still giving it plenty of time to develop. And the box press gives the cigar a different feel in the hand compared with the traditional round JFR sizes.
There is strength here, but flavor is really the point. Darker than the standard JFR Corojo. Richer. A little more polished without losing the straightforward character that made JFR popular in the first place.
Packed in boxes of 21, the JFR 20 Years Super Toro is a fitting anniversary smoke. Twenty years behind the name. Plenty of Aganorsa tobacco inside it.
