The star here is the exclusive Ecuadorian El Bajo Sungrown wrapper, grown in the mineral-rich El Bajo region of Ecuador. Underneath are Dominican binder and filler tobaccos, all brought together at the legendary Tabacalera A. Fuente factory in the Dominican Republic.
Expect a deep profile of coffee, roasted nuts, dark wood, earth and spice, with a natural sweetness working underneath. The tapered Pyramid shape concentrates the smoke at the start, then slowly opens up as the burn reaches the wider section.

The original Diamond Crown was built around smoothness.
MAXIMUS went looking for more horsepower.
The Diamond Crown Maximus #3 Pyramid measures approximately 6.3″ x 50, with the sharply tapered head giving this cigar a completely different feel from a traditional Toro or Robusto.
Outside is the tobacco that really defines MAXIMUS—an exclusive Ecuadorian El Bajo Sungrown wrapper. The leaf comes from the El Bajo region of Ecuador, where nutrient-rich soil produces unusually hearty tobacco. Only tobacco from the upper primings is selected, giving the wrapper its darker appearance and fuller character.
Inside?
Dominican binder and Dominican filler tobaccos, aged and carefully blended to handle everything that wrapper brings to the table. Each cigar is handmade at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic.
The first few draws have some punch.
Dark wood and pepper show themselves early, followed by roasted coffee and earth. As the Pyramid widens, the smoke becomes broader and creamier. Roasted nuts start working their way in. A little natural sweetness. Maybe some darker cocoa as things heat up.
It keeps changing.
That’s part of the fun.
The tapered shape means you’re not smoking exactly the same cigar from beginning to end. Flavor starts concentrated, gradually opens up through the middle, then becomes deeper again as you get toward the finish.
And despite the MAXIMUS name, this isn’t strength just for the sake of strength.
