The JFR Lunatic Maduro (6 1/2″ x 60) Box of 28 is big, dark, and built around a whole lot of Nicaraguan tobacco.
A Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper covers Aganorsa-grown Nicaraguan binder and fillers. That dark wrapper brings some sweetness and depth to the blend, while the tobacco underneath keeps things earthy and spicy.
Expect dark cocoa, roasted coffee, earth, black pepper and toasted nuts. A little sweetness comes and goes. At 6 1/2″ x 60, there’s plenty of cigar here. The thick ring gauge throws off heavy smoke and keeps the burn cool, while the extra length gives the blend time to settle down and get richer.

The JFR Lunatic Maduro (6 1/2″ x 60) isn’t small. It isn’t trying to be.
At 6 1/2″ inches long with a 60-ring gauge, this is a thick, substantial cigar made for the smoker who actually likes having some tobacco in their hand.
The outside is a dark Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper. Underneath, Aganorsa uses its own Nicaraguan tobacco for both the binder and filler.
Good combination.
The San Andrés brings the darker side of the cigar. Cocoa. Earth. A little sweetness. The Nicaraguan tobacco underneath adds pepper, roasted character and enough strength to keep the whole thing from becoming too soft. The beginning is earthy. Then the coffee starts showing up.
Dark cocoa follows. Toasted nuts. Pepper around the edges. Every so often there’s a little molasses-like sweetness from the Maduro wrapper that pulls everything back together. It doesn’t taste like a dessert cigar. Not even close.
There’s still plenty of dirt under its fingernails.
The 60-ring gauge produces thick smoke and keeps the cigar burning at a relaxed pace. And at 6.5 inches long, the blend has enough time to move around instead of giving you the exact same flavor from beginning to end. Later on, things get darker. More coffee. More earth. A little extra pepper.
The JFR Lunatic Maduro (6 1/2″ x 60) Box of 28 is made for someone who wants a big Maduro with plenty of Aganorsa character and doesn’t need it dressed up to look fancy.
Dark. Thick. A little rough around the edges. Exactly where a Lunatic should be.
