La Gloria Cubana Serie R Black Maduro No. 56 Box of 18 is a big smoke, but not just because of the size. At 7″ x 56, this cigar stretches out the Serie R Black Maduro blend and gives it room to build slowly. Long format. Thick smoke. Dark flavor from the start.
The Maduro wrapper brings that deep, heavy look right away. Once lit, you get pepper, earth, roasted coffee, cocoa, and a darker wood note. There is some sweetness in there too, but it stays low. More burnt sugar and molasses than anything soft.

Tasting Notes:
Dark earth, black pepper, roasted coffee, cocoa, espresso, charred wood, leather, and light Maduro sweetness.
The first third starts bold with pepper and dry earth. Coffee comes in early, followed by cocoa and a little dark sweetness.
Through the middle, the cigar gets thicker and smoother. Espresso, leather, and toasted wood show up more. The finish is long, smoky, and a little spicy.
Near the end, the No. 56 gets heavier. More roasted tobacco. More char. Still rich, still dark, still very Serie R Black Maduro.
