Montecristo 1935 Edicion Diamante No. 2 puts the darker, richer side of Montecristo into a long 6.5″ x 56 figurado with a box press.
Made by A.J. Fernandez in Nicaragua, the cigar uses Nicaraguan tobacco from wrapper to filler. The wrapper receives an additional fermentation before rolling, while the finished cigars rest for at least 12 months before release.
That extra work gives the No. 2 a polished profile with dark chocolate, roasted coffee, oak, pepper and a softer natural sweetness underneath. It has strength, but it never feels rough.
Rated 93 points by Cigar Aficionado, the No. 2 is a good choice for smokers who want a richer Montecristo with plenty of Nicaraguan character in a slower-smoking figurado format.

Montecristo 1935 Edicion Diamante No. 2 Description
Monecristo 1935 Edicion Diamante No. 2 is where the Diamante blend gets a little more interesting.
The tapered figurado shape immediately changes the experience.
The opening is narrower and more concentrated, putting pepper and darker tobacco right up front. As the burn line moves into the wider section of the cigar, everything begins to spread out.
Coffee gets richer. Chocolate becomes easier to pick out. Oak and spice move underneath the smoke. Then some sweetness starts slipping through.
The blend itself is entirely Nicaraguan and handmade at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez. The wrapper goes through a second fermentation before rolling, helping remove some of the sharper edges while developing deeper color and flavor.
Once rolled, the cigars are aged for at least another twelve months. That is a lot of waiting. You can taste why they bothered.
Diamante has plenty of Nicaraguan strength, but it does not come across like a raw powerhouse. The pepper has some control. The coffee and chocolate notes have room to develop, and the natural sweetness gives the darker flavors somewhere to go.
The No. 2’s 6.5″ x 56 shape stretches that progression out. Early draws can feel tighter and spicier. The middle gets broader and smoother. Toward the finish, darker tobacco, espresso, oak and pepper begin pulling everything back together.
