The Oliva Serie V Melanio Gran Reserva Limitada World Cup 2026 Edition arrives inside a fully functional wooden humidor shaped like a soccer ball, created by Oliva to mark the 2026 World Cup hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Open it up and the presentation gets even better.

Packed inside are 24 Oliva Serie V Melanio Double Toros measuring 6 x 60. Half are Natural. Half are Maduro. All 24 received three years of additional aging after they were rolled, and each cigar carries a special commemorative band created specifically for the release.

So while the humidor grabs your attention first, Oliva certainly didn’t forget about what goes inside it.

The 12 Serie V Melanio Natural Double Toros use an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over the rich Nicaraguan tobacco that has made Melanio one of Oliva’s best-known blends. The profile starts with cedar and warm spice before developing notes of roasted coffee, cocoa and natural tobacco sweetness. There is plenty of body, but the extra aging smooths out the sharper edges. It feels rich rather than aggressive.

Then you have the other half.

The 12 Serie V Melanio Maduro Double Toros trade the Sumatra leaf for a dark San Andrés Maduro wrapper. That one change pushes the blend in another direction. Darker cocoa. Espresso. Earth. More sweetness. A deeper finish. The Nicaraguan core is still very much there, but the Maduro wrapper gives the cigar a heavier and somewhat richer personality.

Smoking them side by side is half the fun.

Same 6 x 60 format. Same Melanio family. Yet the wrappers make the two cigars behave very differently.

Oliva could have filled the humidor with standard-production cigars and called it a day. They didn’t. The extended aging, limited production and commemorative bands make the cigars themselves an important part of the release rather than an afterthought attached to fancy packaging.
