Perdomo Legacy Shade Grown Gordo
The Perdomo Legacy Shade Grown Gordo is a big cigar. No way around it. At 6″ x 60, it takes its time and puts out a thick, creamy smoke from the first few draws.
It starts with cedar and toasted wood. A little earth too. As the cigar warms up, you begin to get roasted nuts, cinnamon spice, and a soft molasses-like sweetness. The flavors move around quite a bit, but the cigar stays balanced. Rich, without becoming too heavy.
The reddish-brown Nicaraguan Shade Grown wrapper is bale-aged for 10 years, then aged again in bourbon barrels for at least 10 months. That extra aging makes a difference. The pepper feels smoother. The sweetness is more natural. Nothing tastes sharp or rushed.
Under the wrapper is a Cuban-seed Maduro binder and Nicaraguan filler tobacco grown in Estelí, Condega, and Jalapa. Plenty of depth in the blend. Still, the large ring gauge keeps the smoke cool and gives everything room to open up slowly.
