Tabernacle Broadleaf Robusto Description
The Tabernacle Broadleaf Robusto (5″ x 50) Box of 24 takes everything that makes this Foundation blend work and compresses it into one of the most traditional cigar sizes. Five inches. Fifty ring. No wasted space.
The cigar starts with a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder. Underneath is a mix of tobacco from Estelí and Jalapa in Nicaragua along with Jamastrán in Honduras.
That combination gives the Robusto plenty of weight from the start. Earth comes first. Then cocoa. Black pepper hangs around the edges while espresso and darker roasted tobacco begin filling in the middle.
The Broadleaf is easy to notice. That is one of the advantages of the Robusto size. There is enough filler to give the cigar depth, but not so much that the wrapper gets buried underneath it. As the burn moves along, the profile becomes rounder. Chocolate gets deeper. Coffee becomes more pronounced. Leather and wood begin showing underneath, while a natural sweetness from the wrapper helps soften some of the darker flavors.
