New for 2026, the Room101 Johnny Tobacconaut Maduro Gordo (6″ x 60) takes the cult-favorite Johnny Tobacconaut in a darker, heavier direction. Introduced at PCA 2026, this new Maduro blend was developed with AJ Fernandez and rolled in Nicaragua as a true Nicaraguan puro—wrapper, binder, and filler all Nicaraguan.
Big format. Dark tobacco. Plenty going on.
The Maduro wrapper pushes the profile toward rich earth, espresso, dark cocoa, and spice, while the thick 60-ring gauge gives everything time to settle in. Fuller than the Connecticut version and built for smokers who want a little more muscle from Johnny.

New for 2026, the Room101 Johnny Tobacconaut Maduro Gordo (6″ x 60) is the newest chapter in Room101’s wonderfully strange Johnny Tobacconaut story. The Maduro line made its debut around PCA 2026 and began shipping to retailers in June, joining the lineup in Robusto, Toro, and this massive Gordo format.
And this isn’t just the Connecticut blend wearing a darker wrapper.
Room101 worked with AJ Fernandez to build the Maduro as a 100% Nicaraguan puro. Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper on the outside. Nicaraguan binder. Nicaraguan fillers underneath. The result moves Johnny into fuller, richer territory, with earth, espresso, dark cocoa, coffee, and spice shaping the profile.
Then you get to the size.
6 inches. 60 ring gauge. Big enough to slow the whole thing down. The Gordo gives that dense Nicaraguan blend plenty of room to develop, making it a good choice when you’ve got some time and aren’t looking for a quick smoke.
Dark and earthy at one point. Coffee and cocoa the next. Pepper and spice hanging around underneath.
Definitely more muscle than the Johnny Tobacconaut Connecticut.
