The Tabernacle Broadleaf Torpedo takes Foundation’s dark, powerful Broadleaf blend and squeezes it into a short 4.5″ x 52 format with a tapered head.
Connecticut Broadleaf wraps a Mexican San Andrés binder and filler tobaccos from Estelí, Jalapa and Jamastrán. The smaller format puts the wrapper front and center, bringing dark cocoa, espresso, earth and black pepper into the smoke almost immediately.
There is not much warm-up time here. The cigar gets going quickly, then opens into leather, roasted tobacco and a darker natural sweetness as it settles down. A short cigar, but big personality.
For smokers who want The Tabernacle in a concentrated format, the Torpedo makes a lot of sense.

Tabernacle Broadleaf Torpedo Description
The Tabernacle Broadleaf Torpedo (4.5″ x 52) Box of 24 is a strange little cigar in the best possible way. Short. Thick enough to carry plenty of tobacco.
Then tapered down into a Torpedo head. That shape gives The Tabernacle a completely different feel from the longer Toro and Doble Corona.
Foundation starts with a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and places it over a Mexican San Andrés binder. Inside is tobacco from Estelí and Jalapa in Nicaragua along with Jamastrán in Honduras.
A lot packed into four and a half inches. The opening does not fool around. Earth and pepper show first. Espresso follows. Then the Broadleaf starts bringing in darker cocoa and rich tobacco.
Because the cigar is relatively short, the transitions tend to happen faster than they do in the larger sizes. There is less waiting around. A few minutes in and the sharper pepper begins to settle. Coffee gets darker. Cocoa gets thicker. Leather and wood begin showing underneath, with a natural Broadleaf sweetness appearing just enough to smooth out the heavier tobacco.
The tapered head also lets you control the draw somewhat by where you make the cut. Take a smaller cut and keep it concentrated. Open it up a little more and the cigar breathes easier. Either way, this is still The Tabernacle. Dark. Full. Broadleaf-heavy. And unmistakably Foundation.
The 4.5″ x 52 Torpedo is especially useful when you want a full-flavored cigar but do not have time for a seven-inch smoke. You still get the richness. You still get the strength. You just get there faster.
