Plasencia Alma del Cielo Boreal Toro
The Plasencia Alma del Cielo Boreal is the Toro of the line, measuring 6.2″ x 54. It starts smooth. Honey, creamy cedar and a little almond-like sweetness come through early, giving the cigar a rich opening without making it feel heavy.
Give it some time. The profile slowly shifts toward earth, nougat and a touch of orange peel. Then the spice begins to build. Warm and slightly gingery, but controlled. It adds depth without covering up the sweeter tobacco underneath.
Medium to medium-full in strength, the Boreal is a balanced Nicaraguan cigar with enough length to let the flavors move around. Nothing rushed. Nothing overpowering. Packaged in a box of 10.

The first third was creamy and woody. Espresso and black pepper showed up later.

Cedar was the main flavor, followed by roasted nuts and a little cocoa.

This size seems to bring out more spice than the Amanecer. Still balanced, though.

Great size for an hour-long smoke. It never felt rushed or overly slow.

The draw had just the right amount of resistance. Flavorful from the first few puffs.

The balance between strength and flavor was excellent. Enough body without becoming heavy.

I enjoyed the natural sweetness in the middle third. It worked well with the pepper.

A very clean-smoking cigar. No harshness, no sour finish, and plenty of smoke.

Probably my favorite size in Alma del Cielo. Rich, balanced, and very easy to enjoy.

The Boreal had the best balance of the three sizes for me. Cedar, cream, nuts, and a steady pepper finish.

Smooth beginning, richer middle, and a slightly stronger finish. Very well paced cigar.

Medium at the start and closer to medium-full near the end. The strength builds gradually.
Keith F. (verified owner) –
I noticed toasted nuts, leather, and a faint honey-like sweetness.

The opening was smooth and creamy. The final third had darker earth and more pepper.
Jeremy C. (verified owner) –
Solid cigar with an even burn and good smoke output. The wrapper looked great too.
Jesse D. (verified owner) –
The flavors were clear without being overly intense. Cedar, cream, coffee, and warm spice.

I picked up toasted bread, cedar, and a mild sweetness. The burn stayed sharp the entire time.
John S. (verified owner) –
The Boreal stayed cool down to the final inch. No bitterness at the end.
Kevin G. (verified owner) –
The burn line wandered slightly at first but corrected itself. Flavor remained excellent.
Greg N. (verified owner) –
Excellent construction and a firm ash. I did not need to relight or correct the burn.
Jason T. (verified owner) –
The Boreal is probably the most versatile size in the line. Not too large and not too short.
Jonathan P. (verified owner) –
A polished Nicaraguan cigar with good complexity. Each third tasted slightly different.
George G. (verified owner) –
The Boreal felt refined but not mild. Medium-bodied with plenty of flavor.

This one paired nicely with black coffee. The espresso notes became stronger as it burned.
